‘Crisis on Earth-X’ a crossover between The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.

The keenly anticipated crossover ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ between The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow has aired last week. We all have seen and loved the crossover ‘Invasion!’ haven’t we? Also, have loved and enjoyed crossover between Supergirl and The Flash those are another story altogether. After the first crossover ‘Invasion!’ between the four dearly loved CW shows what to expect from ‘Crisis on Earth-X’. Who were the winners and losers of the crossover?

SPOILER ALERT!!!!  If you have not watched ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ crossover between The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow, please be cautious of this speculations post.  This post contains Spoilers.

I spend a lot of time watching sci-fi tv shows and movies as you can tell by me starting a blog. I have recently lost interest in the DC comic shows like Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, however, I always watch Supergirl and The Flash two of my favorite shows. Interactions between Kara and Berry are some of my favorites from the past crossovers. So when I found out about the crossover I was excited as hell. Then came the weekend and I decided to watch all four episodes in a row.

This crossover starts with Supergirl and a wedding. Well yes, it’s the most anticipated wedding of the Flashverse, Berry and Iris wedding. I do not understand what they were thinking when they wrote the episode. The whole episode is about the wedding and is slow with no real plot at all just the wedding some relationship issues between Oliver and Felicity. I mean yes there was that attack from Earth X but it was towards the end. The complete episode seemed a waste of time. I also don’t understand the ‘wedding for the ages’ reference by a Waiter, what was that about?

I thought ok so the first episode of the crossover was a bust but it will pick up in the second well guess what that was another bust. The story continued in the second episode from Arrow and it seemed like a filler episode. They didn’t have a story so added this episode to fill up the hour. The collaboration of Overgirl, Dark Arrow, and Reverse Flash yes you read it right Reverse Flash as in Eobard Thawne from the Earth 1, not from Earth X is back. Again the episode was slow and more relationship issues. Too many characters and too little time focused on them. One funny theme is Nazi’s with guns don’t shoot but are fist fighting I mean why they even had guns and why were our superheroes even slowed down by mortal human no power Nazi’s?

Ok, so what the second episode was a bust maybe the third episode will pick up. To my disappointment, the third episode which was part of The Flash also did not provide any relief. The episode starts with some of our heroes stuck in Earth X and others stuck in Star labs prisons. The whole reason to invade Earth 1 is revealed. There seems no real reason for Reverse Flash to align with Overgirl and Dark Arrow other than they are evil. The whole episode was about escaping from Earth X with useless Nazi’s shown to be formidable enemies against superheroes, how’s that even possible? The whole episode did not make any sense Nazi bullets do not damage wooden boxes but are able to hold off against superheroes and even manage to hit one. Yes, one of the superheroes gets hit with a bullet not going to spoil your fun though.

With the third episode being mediocre I moved on to the fourth episode as I had to finish this crossover even though I did not wish to continue. As expected fourth episode of ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ was also not up to the mark.  Finally, our heroes escape Nazi’s on Earth X and return to Earth 1 with much difficulty I may add. Again some more relationship issue in this episode but also a death. I did not enjoy the death of a superhero in this episode there was no point in that death other than creating some ‘oh so sorry’ factor. Again some more Nazi’s with guns choosing to fistfight, bullets that don’t hit anyone and superheroes engaging in fighting nonheroes. The most stupid part of the episode is when after defeating the anti-heroes Flash lets Eobard Thawne go. Yes just captures Reverse Flash and then lets him free……..what not even imprison him but just lets him go free. I think that was the lowest point of the episode.

The crossover had too many superheroes with no real enemies to fight. It made me laugh thinking I just wasted almost four hours. This crossover did not live up to the mark it was poorly written and executed and felt like a B grade movie.
